David S. Mack Physical Education Center is a state-of-the-art facility located on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. The center is named after David S. Mack, a prominent businessman and philanthropist who donated $10 million to Hofstra for the construction of the facility.
The center includes a 25-yard swimming pool, four multipurpose courts, a fitness center, two racquetball courts, an indoor track, and a climbing wall. It also features a dance studio, a martial arts studio, and two classrooms for health and physical education classes.
The pool is used for recreational swimming, as well as for Hofstra's Division I swim team. The multipurpose courts are used for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and other indoor sports. The fitness center includes cardio and weight training equipment, as well as a group exercise room.
The David S. Mack Physical Education Center is open to Hofstra students, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the local community who purchase a membership. The center also hosts events and tournaments throughout the year, including the NCAA Division I Men's Volleyball Championship in 2019.
